Parallel Track 2 (Technical): From Cloud to Edge: Implementing AI, Privacy, and the Data Act
THE ARC
Are you sure?
Do you want to register for this session?
This session examines the shift from cloud to edge computing, driven by the rise of AI and concerns about sustainability and privacy. As cloud computing peaks, edge computing emerges, offering data processing and storage closer to data sources and consumers. Granting smart devices the capability to process data at the source independently greatly advances data sovereignty and privacy, where the user has full and individual control over personal data. We will explore how edge computing can democratise data, empowering users and communities in line with the AI and Data Act, and discuss its implications across various domains.
Moderation: Raf Buyle, Digitaal Vlaanderen & Athumi
